About Our Services
The Kiirtan Academy is an educational platform that is inclusive and participatory. It provides support, educational classes, courses, networking, promotion and performance opportunities to both beginner and professional kiirtaniyas. It based on the premise that kiirtan is a ‘supra aesthetic science’, or ecstatic form of samgiita (music, dance and instrumental music), a description given by the founder of HPMGL (Hari Pari Mandala Gosthi), Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar. Kiirtan is a music genre in its own right, that has been developing in Rarh (north east India) since the 11th century at least. The Kiirtan Academy is creating a global network of kiirtaniyas who have dedicated themselves to learning, practicing and developing kiirtan, a music genre that has so far been neglected.
All Profits from the Kiirtan Academy go to the Rarhi Kiirtaniyas Fund, India to support the ancient Kiirtan Tradition of Rarh. According to P.R.Sarkar the Rarhi Kiirtan tradition is “outstanding and unparalleled” and presently in dire need. Our goal is to assist in its preservation and promotion
The Kiirtaniyas motto is the one given by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu (15th century)

Service 1: Courses and Sessions

– Weekly classes on Singing Traditional Rarhi Kiirtan,
– Fortnightly classes on the Khol drum plus the NEW Kiirtan MEET and SWAP.
– Monthly classes on Singing the Sutras.

Service 2: Special Guest Workshop
There are the Monthly Kiirtan Academy Sessions where we invite Guests to Speak about Kiirtan and Topics Related to Kiirtan such as Integral Sound Therapy, the Kiirpa Instrument, International Harp Therapy, Kiirtan from Brazil, Kiirtan from the Philippines, Kiirtan from Kenya, Russia, and much more…
They are always a highlight of the month. In this way we continue to expand our knowledge on kiirtan globally.
Service 3: Support and Feedback
Educational classes, courses and support for the kiirtaniya, including resources and materials. This includes a kiirtan ‘bank’ and access to all previous classes via recordings uploaded to our FB page.
